Springform-Pan Pizza

Look out Papa Johns. Yep, that's right. Springform-Pan Pizza. I don't have a picture of this... but i wished I could have snapped one before we started cutting! I really really really want a baking stone from Pampered Chef, but I haven't gotten around to buying one yet. So we had some cheese and mushrooms that we needed to use before they went bad, so we decided to make pizza for dinner tonight. And we didn't want a square pizza, so Joe pulled out from underneath the counter, a 10-inch springform pan I still haven't used yet (wedding present), sprayed it with Pam, and and started kneading away, and up about 3/4 inch along the side. Well, turns out it was some AMAZING deep-dish pizza! We ate the whole thing. Now, i'm not so sure I want to bake a cake in it anymore, but....

The Concept...

We'll see how it actually comes out. My in-law's 30th anniversary is coming up, and i'm going to do the cakes. One will be a three-tiered square wedding cake with daisies (i'll draw that out later), and then a grooms cake... A Harley-Davidson cake - cut out to be the shape and everything. It'll be covered in chocolate frosting, with orange outline and white writing. I've google searched "harley davidson cake" and all I've seen are sheet cakes with the symbol. I'm not going to do that... that's too simple! :)

I'll make it later this week and be sure to post test #1. It could be good... it could be very, very bad...

Sugar Rush

Easter Candy is 50% off.... watch out! I've been grabbing bags of M&Ms, Kisses, and toostie rolls, - I figured I'll have them on hand to decorate if need be. Hopefully they won't all be eaten before I need to use them ;)

Banana Bread

I made my first home made banana bread last night.... It came out a little brown on the edges, and not nearly as good as my moms, but it's still oh so good. I love a slice after dinner with butter on top... Reminds me of family dinners with the whole family. Sooooo yummy. Here's the recipe:

2-3 very ripe bananas
2/3 cup Sugar
1/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup nuts

Mix dry ingredients.
In a seperate bowl, cream shortening and sugar, add eggs. Mix in with mashed bananas.
Add wet ingredients to dry, mix by hand just until moistened.

Bake in (greased and floured) bread pan for 55 min (30 for dark pans). Makes 1 loaf.

Patience, Patience

Keep checking back, I've just started this but I am making a goal to post on here regularly. I have quite a few pictures, recipes, and updates that I already want to put on here, but work comes first. sigh.
